Abstract

Preterm births are serious life-threatening complication of pregnancy which bears a high risk of death and other complications both in mother and child. Today many efficient options exist for tocolysis, that is prolongation of pregnancy necessary to maturation of fetus’s lung. Selection of optimal therapy usually done based on effectiveness and safety profile, but in third-payer setting economical aspect of treatment if also important. The cost-minimization analysis and budget impact analysis show that in Russian setting use of atosiban will result in significant savings.

Key words

atosiban, preterm birth, cost minimization analysis, budget impact analysis
